all things shiny...
I've had a slight obsession with gold shoes lately... anyways, these bad boys caught some nice afternoon light the other day and I couldn't resist snapping a pic.. I know, I'm such a dork.
Anyways, I've decided that the first person to buy me these will be my new best friend for life:
Not only are they adorable, but they incorporate my other obsession, scallops... like I said, bff FOR LIFE.
OK screw that, I'll just buy them myself ;)
A few runner-ups:
surprises...
It's always the things you hate at first that you end up loving the most...

Eka-pada-rajakapotasana - Andrzej Radka
Pigeon used to be my most dreaded pose... now, I look forward to it like nothing else.
It was a good class this morning. Dave came and slid all over his mat - need to get him a yogitoes... actually, maybe I'll give him my old one and I'll indulge in a new, deity one - love the ganesha!
Before class, I sprayed my Chakra 2 body mist from Aveda on my mat and an hour into class, when we finally got to lay down, it was the best little surprise of a fragrance - must do it again!
Hope you're having a great weekend!!
moroccan blue...
Someday I'll own a home in the desert with a covered patio that has it's own massive woven ceiling fan. I'll paint it a moroccan blue and will fill it with colorful pillows.... one can dream.
this book has been teasing me from my coffee table since february... someday :)
the longest day ever...
Happy first day of summer!
Hope you spend the longest day of the year with friends and drinks!
* all photos from Moaan's photostream - so talented.
well duh...
Every once in a while, I get into a funk where all I want to do is sleep - I get all lethargic and lazy, down on life.... Usually this happens when I take an impromptu hiatus from all things active...
Well, stubborn me insists on waiting until becoming alllmost clinically depressed until the light bulb goes off yelling at me to "GO TO YOGA!". Then, I inevitably go and return home, sweaty as all hell, happy as a clam.
Well tonight, Keyse, Sarah and myself braved the 105º baptiste studio to sweat out all the funk and wring out our toxins... nothing in the world beats hot yoga. And, of course, we all left saying "we should do it every week!", all glowy in our happy bodies :)
Anyways, that's all I've got. I feel good and feeling good makes you want others to feel good! Go be active. It's truly the only way to stay sane.
wow. it's midnight. sleep tight!

oh and btw, if you're a yogi and live in the Haverhill area, my mom just opened a new studio, right on Merrimack St.!

finally...
I chose a name.
My absolute favorite flower (actually it's a weed but whatever) is Queen Anne's Lace.
This was my grandmother's favorite flower too...
With their intricate blossoms, they look delicate like lace but if you've ever tried to pull one out of the ground, you'll know they're ruthlessly strong-willed. Something about them just draws me in.
I've been trying to nail down a simplified design of this flower forever for a little wrist tattoo but it keeps looking like a blob.
Anyways, there it is.. this blog has been named.
Also - an oldie(ish) but goodie - Neutral Milk Hotel's "King of Carrot Flowers Pt.1.mp3" for your listening pleasure...
impressed...
While out shopping at Copley yesterday, I swung into the Aveda store because I live for their tea and they always give you a free cup while you shop (not to mention, their products are amazing). I was greeted by a sweet sales lady who treated me to a wellness massage and the afore-mentioned tea... Needless to say, she got a great sale out of me.

my new favs: Chakra 2 Balancing Body Mist & Blue Oil Balancing Concentrate... apparently I need to be balanced!
But anyways, the point of this story is how impressed I am with their eco-conscious, well, everything! Since I was shopping with my canvas tote, my entire purchase was dicounted - then I happened to notice a jar of milk/bottle caps and asked what they were for... well get this - for every 25 caps you bring in, you get a free deluxe Aveda sample. Since caps can't be reprocessed like bottles, they end up in landfills and worse yet - the bellies of our beloved sea-animals. Aveda is collecting them and recycling them into caps for their limited-edition retro Clove Shampoo bottles that come out this fall!
To participate, visit aveda.com/stores to find an Aveda store location near you.
Or mail in your caps to:
